According to a recent report by the Telegraph, Premier League giants Chelsea have agreed on a deal in principle with RB Leipzig over the transfer of highly-rated German attacker Timo Werner this summer. The report suggests that the striker has agreed to join the Blues and that the only thing that remains is tying up the final details of the deal with his current Bundesliga employer. Chelsea’s English rivals Liverpool were also in the race for the speedster’s signature but were reportedly put off by the £53m release clause, which Chelsea were happy to meet at the earliest.
