A 22 y/o football nerd seeking my way into football writing. I love Irish football and also the Premier League. A huge Arsenal fan! Aside from writing, I like to spend my time fishing and drinking beer.

During an interview with Football Insider, Noel Whelan has claimed that Leeds United will likely loan out Mateusz Bogusz this summer. The ex-Leeds footballer said, “Now there might be a loan that comes up this year, and after this, the club might go: ‘Well yeah, actually, after this you can go.”

Whelan predicting a loan exit for Mateusz Bogusz means the player is clearly facing an uncertain future at the club. But, it is equally essential for the Whites to find a desirable option for the Pole. And in this article, we will talk about three ideal destinations for Bogusz, in case he does leave Leeds on loan this summer.

Lech Poznan

Perhaps one of the main reasons why Bogusz is yet to make his breakthrough in senior football at Leeds United is because of his lack of experience at the highest level of football. A return to Ekstaraklasa, in that regard, could be helpful for the player and very few clubs fit the bill better than Lech Poznan.

The Polish outfit that has famously produced Robert Lewandowski are currently struggling, failing to keep up with league leaders and arch-rivals Legia Warszawa. Coach Dariusz Zuraw has an abundance of midfield options, but most of them are defence-minded, and that’s where Bogusz could fit in.

The young midfielder can serve as an alternative for Pedro Tiba and Darko Jevtic, in a more advanced role in midfield. Bogusz himself will feel more comfortable playing in his country, meaning this could turn out to be a promising loan move for the player.

Eintracht Frankfurt

Unlike Lech Poznan, Eintracht Frankfurt probably won’t be able to offer as much game-time next season. However, working under someone like Adi Hutter could improve Bogusz’s overall quality. His tenacious and athletic nature would tune in well with the club’s high press.

Eintracht currently have a host of central midfield options. But, the likes of Sebastian Rode and Jonathan de Guzman haven’t been able to make a mark while both Makoto Hasebe and Gelson Fernandes are in the final phase of their respective careers. Bogusz, therefore, could slot in as a decent alternative for Dominik Kohr. The young Pole will surely relish the opportunity of playing in the Bundesliga.

Coventry City

Coventry City are well on their way to gaining their promotion to the Championship next season. The Sky Blues are leading the League One table by five points with one game still in hand. However, they have appeared overreliant on the services of Liam Walsh and Liam Kelly.

And given the new challenges, they will face in the English second division next season; they could certainly use someone like Bogusz. The 18-year-old will provide an incentive for these individuals to fight for their places in the starting lineup while the player himself will have a chance to gain a key role in the first-team potentially.
