Real Madrid are on the lookout for a striker this season with Los Blancos willing to spend a substantial amount of transfer fee on a forward. However, Cope is now reporting that the Madrid club have pulled themselves out of the race to sign Erling Braut Haaland from Borussia Dortmund this season. Instead, the Spanish giants will try and get their man next term when his price is around €70 million. Now that Real Madrid are not looking for his acquisition, here are three alternatives that Madrid side could go for.
The French star has been on the radar of Zidane for a long time now, and the signing of the PSG man would be a dream for the club as well as the supporters. The FIFA World Cup winner is already one of the biggest stars of the world, and nobody would bat an eyelid if it is said that the future belongs to Kylian Mbappé.
Not only would he be an ideal replacement for Haaland, but the ex-Monaco man could take the club to another level. He would be in a position to lead the attack of Zidane’s team for a very long time to come and win multiple accolades with his side. However, getting a deal for the PSG superstar will be super-hard as Real would not find it easy to convince the French club to part with their asset.
The Spurs forward is another man who has been on Real Madrid’s wish list for a very long time, but the move never materialized. However, with Tottenham Hotspur’s volatile situation, now could probably be the right time for Madrid giants to bring him to Santiago Bernabéu. A player in the similar nature as Haaland, Kane would be a like for like replacement for the Norwegian.
A striker with immense potential and prowess, the English front-man would also be a person who could do wonders in the Spanish capital, playing alongside the likes of Hazard and Benzema. Manchester United might also be in the hunt for the England international, but Real Madrid should certainly be better placed than the Mancunians to land him.
The Serbian had arrived at Real last summer in a big-money move, but it’s fair to say that his stint in Spain has been lacklustre. His finishing ability has been put to question and so has been his decision making. The number of injuries that he sustained has not helped his cause either, thus putting the large part of the blame for Los Blancos’ inconsistent show in the frontline upon him.
However, now with Haaland out of the picture, it may be time for the ex-Benfica man to shine. Zidane might be left with no other alternative, but to put his trust on Jovic for one more season, before a decision on his long term future is made next summer.
