According to a recent report by The Independent, Premier League giants Chelsea are set to tie down their prodigious attacking-midfielder Faustino Anjorin to a new long-term deal in the coming weeks. Still, given the quality he possesses, it’s perhaps not overly surprising that the Blues are eager to keep him at Stamford Bridge for the long run.

Scouting Tino Anjorin – Chelsea’s Newest Star

Who Is Tino Anjorin?

The youngster was born in the English town of Poole and has been a member of the Chelsea academy since joining as a little boy. Having spent his entire career so far at Stamford Bridge, there is an obvious degree of loyalty that the attacker is sure to show the West London side. He was first bright into the developmental setup in the summer of 2017, before being brought into the first-team picture this season as a part of Frank Lampard’s youth revolution.

The trickster’s last contract extension at Stamford Bridge was in the winter of 2018, and the Blues will surely be looking to change that in the coming days or weeks.

Despite being just 18-years-old, the youngster boasts excellent maturity and mental sturdiness, which tends to be one of his biggest assets on the pitch. Standing at over 1.86m tall, the Englishman could be fairly well-suited to the gritty nature of Premier League football as well.

What Is Tino Anjorin’s Skill-Set Like?

The attacking-midfielder is obviously at his most effective when deployed as the number ten, just in behind the main striker. Adept at beating a man with a trick or finding the right pass, the youngster tends to make extremely sensible decisions in even the most high-pressure situations. Although the Englishman is more than capable of playing in the middle of the park as well, there’s no denying that he’s at his most dangerous when thrown right into the attacking fray.

Tall and well-built, the youngster is one of the highest-rated players in the Chelsea academy, and with good reason. The 18-year-old has the potential to develop into one of the Blues’ best academy graduate in recent years, and that’s after even considering names like Mason Mount and Tammy Abraham. His 11 fixtures in Premier League 2 have yielded an impressive return of five goals and four assists, which have even helped the London side maintain their place atop the league table.

Why This New Deal Should Be Exciting News For Chelsea Fans?

Frank Lampard’s youth revolution is now well and truly underway at Stamford Bridge, and despite the early acquisition of Hakim Ziyech, expect the gaffer to provide the youngsters with a fair number of opportunities. The manager handed Anjorin his Premier League debut earlier in the season as well when he was thrown on in the London club’s comfortable 4-0 victory against Everton. There’s no doubt that the youngster is destined for big things in football, and given Lampard’s ideology, we expect him to be a mainstay at Chelsea for a long time to come.
