Liverpool will travel to Vicarage Road to clash heads with Watford on Saturday evening hoping to pick up maximum points on the road. The Reds need just four wins to ensure the Premier League title and will come into this clash full of confidence after earning a come-from-behind victory versus West Ham United earlier this week.
Jurgen Klopp will set his team up in a 4-3-3 formation and might make one change for this match against Nigel Pearson’s relegation strugglers.
4-3-3 Liverpool Predicted Lineup Vs Watford
Defence
Alisson Becker will play in between the sticks after conceding two goals against the Hammers on Monday night. Barring any late injuries, Joe Gomez will once again line up alongside Virgil Van Dijk at the heart of the Reds defence. Both centre-backs need to ensure that they are at the top of their game if they want to secure a clean sheet against Watford this weekend.
Trent Alexander-Arnold put in a match-winning display in his last outing which will give him a confidence boost heading into this encounter as he assumes the right-back role in Klopp’s first-team. Andrew Robertson will feature on the other side as the left-back. The Scotland international will focus on making some driving runs with the ball down the left flank so that he can get to the by-line and whip in a few dangerous crosses into the opposition penalty box.
Klopp will instruct both his full-backs to press high up the field to pin the Hornets back inside their own half.
Midfield
The Liverpool midfield could be comprised of Georginio Wijnaldum, Fabinho and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain as they look to link up with each other and create some meaningful goal-scoring chances going forward. Fabinho looked far from his best against West Ham on Monday so there is a concern that he might struggle to keep up with the pace of the game at Vicarage Road this weekend.
Naby Keita might be dropped after he put in a lacklustre display in his last outing. Adam Lallana could join him on the Reds bench. However, James Milner is a major doubt for this clash as he continues to recover from a slight muscle strain.
Attack
Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane will hope to stretch the pitch out on the flanks while Roberto Firmino leads the charge down the middle. Both Salah and Mane got their names on the scoresheet versus David Moyes’ men earlier this week so they will be in high spirits heading into this contest away at Hertfordshire.
Takumi Minamino and Divock Origi will have to settle for a spot on the bench but might get a chance to make an impact in the game if Klopp decides to call upon their services.
