Hull City Boss Provides Update On This Winger’s Future Amid Leeds United Interest: Should Bielsa Move In?

Leeds United have been linked (Leeds Live) with Hull City’s prolific winger Jarrod Bowen. However, their manager Gran McCann recently gave an update that his club is yet to receive any bid for the in-demand winger. The Englishman is in the final few months of his deal with the club, and there is a lot of uncertainty about his future.

Hull manager on Bowen

McCann recently said, ”[There’s been] no bids for Jarrod, nothing has come to me, As is well publicised, there’s been a new and improved offer put to Jarrod and his representatives, so we’re just waiting to hear back on that. I can see both sides of it. I can see that Jarrod is really enjoying his football, and I can also see the side that if he doesn’t accept a deal, then something has to be done really.”

“At the minute we are where we are. We all know the situation.  All I can do is concentrate on the team and concentrate on Jarrod while he’s here. Hopefully, he’s here for a long time. If he’s not, then, he’s not. I don’t worry myself with that too much.”

The club boss said that the Tigers had tabled a new contract offer for the winger and they are waiting for his reply. McCann also indicated that something might have to be done if he doesn’t accept it, which suggests to us that he could be open to selling him. However, these are just speculations from our side.

Should Bielsa sign Bowen?

Leeds United are still searching for a striker to replace Eddie Nketiah. The Whites recently secured the signing of Ian Poveda, who is seen as a replacement for Jack Clarke. Bowen is also a winger, so a lot of people might feel that the club doesn’t need to get him at this moment. However, we believe that Bowen would still be an excellent addition for the Whites.

Patrick Bamford often gets the blame for the Whites for not scoring enough, but it cannot be ignored that United’s wingers and playmakers aren’t contributing much in terms of attacking returns. Someone like Bowen can change that as he has 17 goals and five assists in all competitions this season.

Bowen is a livewire in and around the box, and he has an eye for a goal. Along with his quick feet, agility and trickery what really stands out is his goal-scoring threat. McCann indicated that he is yet to receive any offer, and we believe that the Whites should look to spend big on Bowen even though he is not a striker. Bielsa might also utilise him in an attacking midfielder’s role. The winger can change matches on his own, and he will add that cutting edge in the final third.
