According to a recent report by The Liverpool Echo, Barcelona have seen their €100m (£85m) bid rejected by Everton for Richarlison this month. It is believed that the Toffees are not looking to sell their prized asset as they consider the Brazilian striker to be integral to Ancelotti’s long-term plans at Goodison Park.

Even though the Liverpool Echo has claimed that the Merseyside club are bracing themselves for interest in the South American sensation, who has penned a new five-year deal in December, to intensify, they have no interest in sanctioning his departure.

Richarlison’s Eye-Catching Numbers At Goodison Park This Season

The 22-year-old has been the one shining light in Everton’s disappointing campaign in the Premier League thus far. He has put in several match-winning displays for the Toffees this season and is currently one of the first names in Ancelotti’s team sheet at Goodison Park.

Richarlison is currently out of action with a knee injury, but he has put in his fair share of goal-scoring performances for Everton in this campaign. He has scored ten goals and provided four assists in 24 appearances for Ancelotti’s side this term across all competitions. The South American sensation has also secured 17 senior caps for the Brazilian national team and has registered six goals for his country in the process.

What Does The Talented Forward Bring To The Table?

Richarlison made a name for himself in English football while operating as a left-winger. However, it is worth noting that he has often been deployed as a striker up top this season. The Brazilian enjoys the freedom of leading the charge down the middle and has scored ten goals to justify his manager’s faith in using him in that position. He is always willing to put up a proper fight and is never tired of working his socks off for the benefit of his team.

Why Everton Cannot Afford To Sanction Richarlison’s Departure This Month

However, Richarlison tends to be selfish at times when in a good position in the final third as he often goes for glory himself even when the wiser option would be to opt for a pass. Even with his minor flaws, the South American playmaker has done remarkably well to bang in so many goals for the Toffees this season. He is currently an irreplaceable member of Ancelotti’s squad and so the Merseyside outfit has to find a way to fend off Barca’s interest in the last few days of this transfer window.

Ancelotti cannot allow Richarlison to leave without lining up a proper replacement. The Italian tactician will be better off waiting until the summer before deciding on whether to cash in on the Brazilian maestro in exchange for the big bucks.
