Nikhil has been an avid Chelsea fan for as long as the concept of time has existed and rumours say that he even bleeds blue. Having lived in the UK for 3 years, Nikhil is said to have an excellent understanding of the atmosphere surrounding the English game. His role model is the greatest manager of all time - Jose Mourinho.

Brendan Rodgers’ high-flying Leicester City were unable to go past Manchester City back into second place on the league table after they suffered a shock 2-1 defeat at the hands of relegation-threatened Burnley. The Clarets were coming into this fixture on the back of four consecutive league defeats and were far from being the better side on the night. Goals from Chris Wood and Ashley Westwood nullified the first-half goal from Harvey Barnes as Sean Dyche’s men took all three points.

Here are the Leicester City players rated in their loss to Burnley.

Kasper Schmeichel – 6.5

The veteran shot-stopper did a decent job in between the sticks as the constant Burnley pressure in the second half was a problem for the Foxes to deal with. Made a couple of decent catches as well.

Ricardo Pereira – 7

The full-back bombarded forward quite a bit in the first half and even delivered a couple of neat crosses. Couldn’t have quite the same kind of impact in the second period of the tie though.

Caglar Soyunçu – 6.5

The Turkish youngster was given a proper run-around by some of the Burnley players, but he did well to maintain his position. Showed excellent maturity from some set-piece situations.

Jonny Evans – 5

The former Manchester United centre-half had a routine fixture going on until he quite literally gifted the Clarets a goal in the second half. Could’ve tracked his man back better as well.

Christian Fuchs – 6

The veteran defender’s rising age was always going to be a concern, and the number of times he was beaten for pace will undoubtedly be worrying Brendan Rodgers in the coming weeks.

Nampalys Mendy – 6

The midfielder had a decent first half but didn’t have quite the same impact in the second period. Made some good passes out from the back but never really managed to make an impact.

Ayoze Perez – 6

The winger made a couple of strong runs into space during the first half but wasn’t able to influence the tie quite as much as he would’ve liked. Needs to improve his decision making in the box.

James Maddison – 7

The Englishman came extremely close to doubling the Foxes’ lead in the first-half but was slowly eased out of the game by the Clarets. Made some good surges forward and moved the ball well.

Dennis Praet – 6.5

The Belgian’s prolonged run in the first team looks set to continue as was a vital part of the Foxes’ build-up play on the night. Tried to carry the ball forward but wasn’t able to impact.

Harvey Barnes – 7.5

The youngster was unquestionably the Foxes’ best player on the night, and he stepped up in the first-half to score a half decent goal as well. Had a couple of more chances in the game as well.

Jamie Vardy – 5.5

The Englishman had a rather busy first half of the fixture, but like the rest of the Leicester attackers, was eased out of the game in the second half. Lacked his usual quality in the final third as well. Missed his penalty at the exact wrong time.

Kelechi Iheanacho – NA

Didn’t have time to make an impact.

Youri Tielemans – NA

Didn’t have time to make an impact.
