According to a recent report by Calciomercato (translated by Sky Sports), Everton striker Moise Kean’s agent, Mino Raiola is not happy with how things are moving for his client at Goodison Park. The same source has claimed that AC Milan are ready to end the Italian marksman’s Merseyside misery by offering him a chance to return to the Serie A during the January transfer period.
Kean’s Lacklustre Start To Life In England
It is understood that the San Siro outfit has reached out to hold talks with Raiola ahead of a potential move for his client this winter (via Calciomercato). Since his big move from Juventus earlier this year, the 19-year-old has failed to live up to the high expectations surrounding his arrival in the Premier League.
Kean has struggled to get into Marco Silva’s first-team and is yet to open his goal-scoring account for his new employers. He has put in a series of underwhelming displays both as a starter and as an impact substitute. The Italian forward has just one assist to his name in 11 appearances for the Toffees thus far.
It seems like things are only going to get worse for Kean this season as he has currently got the likes of Richarlison, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Cenk Tosun ahead of him in the Goodison Park pecking order. Therefore, it makes a lot of sense for the player to pursue a move away from Merseyside when the transfer window reopens in January.
What Are The Italian’s Strengths And Weaknesses?
Kean is deceptively quick and can make some driving runs with the ball in the final third. However, he does not offer much else when he is on the pitch. He is still quite a raw talent and would need to work on improving his productivity if he wants to become a top goal-scorer someday. His overall link-up play this season has also been poor and has left a lot to be desired.
Should The Toffees Sanction Kean’s Departure?
Everton needs to move him on as soon as possible so that they can use the money received from his potential sale to bring in a suitable replacement. It does not feel like things will improve for the young Italian any time soon.
Unless Marco Silva parts ways with the Toffees and a new manager comes in with a fresh outlook, it is difficult to see how Kean would be able to turn things around at Merseyside.
