According to a recent report by Calciomercato, Manchester City are among a whole host of clubs looking to acquire the services of Dani Olmo from Dinamo Zagreb. The same source has stated that the Citizens will face stiff competition from AC Milan and AS Roma in pursuit of the Spanish midfielder.

Olmo’s Majestic Rise In European Football

Olmo has enjoyed a rich vein of form for the Croatian champions this season and has caught the eye with his stellar performances in Europe. The 21-year-old has scored six goals and grabbed six assists in 17 appearances for Dinamo Zagreb this term in all competitions.

It is Olmo’s form in European competitions that has garnered a lot of praise in recent weeks. The Spaniard is averaging 2.0 shots, 1.0 key passes and 4.3 dribbles per game in the UEFA Champions League group stages so far (stats via whoscored).

The ex-Barcelona academy graduate is yet to earn a senior cap for Spain but is currently an integral member of his nation’s Under-21 side. He has scored six goals in 14 international appearances for them thus far.

What Will The Spanish Rising Star Bring To The Etihad Stadium?

Olmo has found a level of consistency in terms of his performances on the pitch. He is always prepared to deliver for his team when they need him the most. The Spanish starlet has decent pace under his belt and can make some driving runs in the opposition half. He has also added a few goals and assists to his game this season which is always a good sign for a player of his age.

Is Olmo The Right Choice For Man City?

The Dinamo attacker has the potential to become a world-class player in his position someday, so Man City will do well to bring him to the Etihad. Olmo is one of the most promising young players in Europe. Hence, it is no surprise that the Citizens will face strong competition from other European heavyweights in pursuit of the talented playmaker. Pep Guardiola could be the ideal manager to nurture the young Spaniard and make him blossom into becoming a future star in the Premier League.

Olmo will be an excellent acquisition for the English champions and will also be the perfect long-term replacement for David Silva, who is set to leave the club at the end of this campaign.
