Ederson Returns, Aguero Dropped From First XI | 4-3-3 Manchester City Predicted Lineup Vs Chelsea

Manchester City’s 3-1 defeat to Liverpool has brought them to the fourth spot on the table, behind their next rivals Chelsea. The reigning Premier League champions have never looked this vulnerable in the past two odd years, and Chelsea will surely look to pile more misery on them when they travel to the Etihad Stadium.

Guardiola would have gotten enough time to reflect on the defeat against Liverpool, and he would want his boys to get back up and show what champions are made of. The Blues have played some free-flowing football this season so we can be in for a fascinating watch this weekend as City will obviously play on the offensive in front of their home crowd. The City players need to put in some top performances as they need to go on a winning run to put some pressure back on Liverpool in the title race.

Team News: Bernardo Silva will be suspended for one game for his tweet sent to Benjamin Mendy. Ederson was pictured in training, and he will be expected to start in goal as he seems to have recovered from his thigh injury. Aymeric Laporte and Leroy Sane are long term absentees. Oleksandr Zinchenko is also doubtful for this tie.

4-3-3 Manchester City Predicted Lineup Vs Chelsea

Formation (4-3-3)

Ederson should come back in goal after Claudio Bravo was criticised for his performance against Liverpool. Fernandinho is expected to start in the centre back role. England international John Stones should partner him. Nicolas Otamendi has been poor, and he is likely to miss out. Kyle Walker will be expected to start over Joao Cancelo on the right side of the defence. Angelino was one of the best players for City in the tie against Liverpool, and he should keep his place at left-back.

Summer signing Rodri will be expected to start in the defensive midfield role. David Silva featured on the bench against the Reds, so he should be hundred percent by now to start from the beginning against Chelsea. Kevin De Bruyne will complete the midfield three for Guardiola.

With Bernardo Silva suspended, Riyad Mahrez should get his chance to start from the right flank. Raheem Sterling was in the news during the international break for the wrong reasons, and he would look to get back on the pitch with a top performance. He will play on the left flank. Sergio Aguero was wasteful at Anfield, and Guardiola might choose Gabriel Jesus to start up front.
