Leicester City will take on Southampton at the St. Mary’s Stadium on Friday night hoping to continue their excellent start to this Premier League season. The Foxes will come into this clash on the back of a 2-1 win over Burnley last weekend.

Brendan Rodgers will opt for a 4-1-4-1 formation and could be inclined to name an unchanged side for this contest away at the south coast of England.

4-1-4-1 Leicester City Predicted Lineup To Face Southampton

Defence

Kasper Schmeichel will operate in between the sticks for the East Midlands side despite conceding three goals in his past two starts in the English top-flight. The defensive duo of Çağlar Söyüncü and Jonny Evans will resume their partnership at the centre of the Leicester backline. Both centre-backs have enjoyed a rich vein of form for the Foxes this season and will look to continue their brilliant work in defence against Ralph Hasenhüttl’s men.

Ricardo Pereira has been one of Rodgers’ best players at the King Power Stadium this season. He is a nailed-on starter at right-back while Ben Chilwell lines up on the other side as the left-back. Leicester has the second meanest defensive record in the Premier League this term after shipping in just eight goals in nine league matches so far. Therefore, they will be optimistic about their chances of securing a clean sheet at the back versus the Saints on Friday.

Midfield

Wilfred Ndidi will resume his duties as the defensive lynchpin in midfield and will be responsible for breaking down the Southampton attacks. Both James Maddison and Youri Tielemans will play in a more advanced midfield role as they try to dictate play and create a few goal-scoring chances in the opposition half.

Ayoze Perez will hope to cause some problems for the Saints backline as the right-winger. Harvey Barnes will be expected to stretch the pitch and be a decent outlet for the Foxes down the left flank. Both Dennis Praet and Marc Albrighton will likely have to settle for a spot on the bench. However, they might get an opportunity to make an impact on the field if needed.

Attack

Jamie Vardy will lead the line for the visitors up top. The 32-year-old striker has made a bright start to this campaign after netting six goals and creating one assist in nine appearances in the top tier of England so far. The Sheffield-born goal machine will likely be the biggest threat to the Southampton defenders on Friday night.
