Manchester United will take on FK Partizan at the Partizan Stadium on Thursday night looking to consolidate their place at the top of their UEFA Europa League group. The Red Devils will come into this contest at the back of a 1-1 draw against the Premier League table toppers, Liverpool.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be inclined to hand most of his first-teamers some rest and will likely opt for a 4-2-3-1 formation against Savo Milošević’s men.
4-2-3-1 Manchester United Predicted Lineup To Face Partizan
Defence
David De Gea started in the heated clash versus Liverpool last weekend, so he is likely to be rested for this European encounter in midweek. Sergio Romero will get the nod to start in between the sticks for the Red Devils. The Argentine goalie kept a clean sheet in his last outing in the Europa League against Astana.
Phil Jones might get a rare start alongside Marcos Rojo at the heart of the Man United backline. The defensive duo will look to keep things tight at the back and restrict the home side from scoring a goal.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka will be forced to fill in at right-back as Diogo Dalot is unlikely to recover in time for this clash. Man United youngster Brandon Williams will likely get another chance to shine in the left-back position. Both full-backs will also be responsible for pushing high up the pitch in support of the Red Devils frontline.
Ashley Young and Victor Lindelof are expected to start on the bench and might come on to feature in this clash if required.
Midfield
Scott McTominay and Fred will continue their partnership at the centre of the park after their impressive display versus Liverpool on Sunday. They would look to stifle the Partizan midfielders and feed the ball to the front players quickly on the counter.
The talented trio of Mason Greenwood, Juan Mata and Daniel James could operate just ahead of them as part of the Man United attack. Both James and Greenwood have been amongst the goals for the away side this season so they will be confident about their chances of scoring on Thursday night.
Jesse Lingard is unlikely to recover in time to play a part in this contest, but Andreas Pereira should be fit enough to start on the bench.
Attack
Marcus Rashford will probably get a well-deserved rest following his heavy involvement for the Mancunian outfit in the first few weeks of this campaign. Anthony Martial will get the opportunity to impress as he is expected to lead the charge for the visitors up top.
