Manchester United will travel to the Vitality Stadium to clash heads with AFC Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon hoping to continue their recent good form across all competitions. The Red Devils will come into this contest at the back of three consecutive wins against Partizan, Norwich City and Chelsea respectively.
Hence, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will fancy his side’s chances of claiming maximum points from the south coast of England. Man United will lineup in a 4-2-3-1 formation with Anthony Martial set to lead the charge for the visitors up top.
4-2-3-1 Manchester United Predicted Lineup To Face Bournemouth
Defence
David De Gea will return in goal for the Mancunian giants after being rested against Chelsea in midweek. Sergio Romero will once again play as a back-up to the Spaniard on the Man United bench. Solskjaer might choose to stick with his preferred centre-back duo of Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire as both defenders look to put in a solid shift versus the Cherries this weekend. However, there are slight concerns over the availability of both Lindelof and Maguire as they will be in a race against time to be fit for this clash.
The Man United centre-halves will be up against Callum Wilson so it would be quite difficult for them to cope with the Bournemouth striker’s goal-threat. Aaron Wan-Bissaka should be fit enough to start in the right-back position. Ashley Young will be the captain of Man United when he takes his place at left-back.
Midfield
Scott McTominay and Fred are expected to operate as the anchormen in midfield. Both players have formed a mutually-beneficial partnership at the centre of the park so they will look to continue their good form at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday.
The attacking trio of Marcus Rashford, Andreas Pereira and Daniel James will likely get the nod to play just ahead of them as part of the Red Devils attack. They will be responsible for creating some decent openings in the Bournemouth half.
Rashford has scored three goals in his past two outings for Man United so he will be confident heading into this encounter against Eddie Howe’s men.
Attack
Anthony Martial will spearhead Solskjaer’s attack upfront. He has linked up well with Rashford upon his return from injury so we can expect him to be a thorn in Bournemouth’s side this weekend.
Both Mason Greenwood and Juan Mata will be available on the bench and might come on to influence the game if required.
