Bayern Forward Set To Leave Amid Prior Interest From Liverpool: Should Klopp Move In?

According to a recent report by the Bild (translated by the Daily Mail), Bayern Munich striker Thomas Muller is eager to seal a move away from the Allianz Arena when the transfer window reopens in January. Back in 2017, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was questioned about the possibility of luring the German striker to Merseyside (via the Daily Mail). However, Muller decided to decline the mega offers from the Premier League so that he can stay with the Bavarian giants.

However, the Bayern attacker’s situation has changed since then, and he is now keen on making a switch away from German football during the winter transfer window. Therefore, this could be Klopp’s ideal opportunity to land the Bundesliga sensation.

Muller’s Incredible Career In German Football

Muller has featured in 10 matches for the German champions this season, scoring one goal while grabbing four assists on all fronts. He is also vastly experienced at the international level, having made 100 appearances for the German national side while registering 38 goals in the process.

The 30-year-old is highly versatile as he primarily operates as a secondary striker but can also fill in as a right-sided winger if required. Muller still has a few years left in his tank to play at a high level, but there is no denying that he has lost a yard of pace over the past few years.

What Are The German Forward’s Best Attributes?

Muller is a fox inside the opposition box as he often hits the target with his shots on goal. The German international links up play well with others around him and can create some decent goal-scoring opportunities for his teammates. He is a lethal finisher in the final third which explains how he scored so many goals for both club and country during his playing career.

The addition of a striker of Muller’s calibre will undeniably bolster Klopp’s attacking options significantly at Anfield. He will not only add more goals to the Liverpool frontline but will also improve the overall depth of the Reds squad.

Should Klopp Make A Move For Muller In January?

Muller could turn out to be the final piece in Klopp’s Anfield jigsaw as he has the potential to tip the scales in Liverpool’s favour in the Premier League title race. Hence, the European champions will be foolish not to make a move for the German striker if he decides to part ways with Bayern in January.
