Tottenham Hotspur will entertain Bayern Munich at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Tuesday night hoping to pick up their first win of this UEFA Champions League campaign. Spurs only managed to claim a 2-2 draw against Olympiakos earlier this month which means that they would have to go for the win in this upcoming clash against Niko Kovac’s men.
Mauricio Pochettino might opt for a 4-2-3-1 formation with Ben Davies, Lucas Moura and Dele Alli all expected to be a part of Spurs’ starting XI.
4-2-3-1 Tottenham Hotspur Predicted Lineup To Face Bayern Munich
Defence
Hugo Lloris will start in goal for Spurs despite making a catastrophic error against Southampton. However, the Frenchman made amends by pulling off a few world-class saves to help his team earn maximum points on Saturday.
The centre-half duo of Davinson Sanchez and Toby Alderweireld might start together at the heart of Pochettino’s backline. Both defenders will be hoping to keep things stable at the back when they go up against the Bayern attackers in midweek. They would have to find a way to neutralise the threat of Robert Lewandowski, who has been in prolific form in front of the opposition goal this season.
Serge Aurier will get the nod to start at right-back after he was sent off for picking up two yellow cards versus the Saints. Ben Davies might get a chance to impress on the other side as he assumes the duties of a left-back. The Tottenham defenders will need to be at their best if they want to stop the Bundesliga champions from scoring on Tuesday night.
Midfield
Both Tanguy Ndombele and Harry Winks will lineup as the anchormen as they look to disrupt Bayern’s play at the centre of the park. The talented trio of Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen and Lucas Moura will operate just ahead of them as part of the Tottenham attack. All three players will be responsible for providing adequate ammunition and support to Harry Kane up top.
Erik Lamela and Moussa Sissoko will have to settle for a place on the Spurs bench but might get a chance to influence this contest if required.
Attack
Harry Kane will spearhead Pochettino’s attack once again in the upcoming European encounter against the Bavarian giants. He managed to score against the Saints on Saturday which should give him a boost of confidence heading into this clash at the English capital.
