Bookies Make Liverpool Favourites To Land This Incredible Midfielder: What An Addition He Would Be For Klopp

According to the latest odds released by the United Kingdom bookmakers (via Liverpool Echo), Liverpool are heavy favourites to win the race to secure the services of Sporting CP midfielder Bruno Fernandes during this ongoing transfer window. The bookies have slashed Liverpool’s odds from 7/4 to 1/9 after a flurry of bets were placed on Jurgen Klopp’s side to secure a deal for the Portuguese international ahead of the new campaign (via Liverpool Echo).

Recent reports have also suggested that Sporting are asking for a fee in the region of £70m which has seen Manchester United drop their interest while a series of bets were placed on the Reds to meet Sporting’s valuation for the Liga NOS goal machine this summer (via Liverpool Echo).

Fernandes’ Remarkable Campaign For The Portuguese Giants Last Season

The 24-year-old experienced the best season of his career at Sporting CP as he helped his club earn a strong fourth-place finish in the Primeira Liga table in the previous campaign. Fernandes was one of the most productive players in the Portuguese top-flight after he put in numerous game-winning performances for Marcel Keizer’s team last season. He was also named the LPFP Primeira Liga Player of the Year for his incredible displays at the José Alvalade Stadium.

The Portuguese international managed to score 32 goals while providing 18 assists in 53 appearances for the Liga NOS outfit last term in all competitions. The Sporting skipper has also represented Portugal in 12 international matches while registering one goal in the process.

What Will The Portuguese Sensation Bring To Merseyside?

Fernandes primarily operates in the number 10 position as he tends to score a lot of goals by making some driving runs from midfield. He has a knack of finding space inside the opposition penalty box and has the composure to finish off chances in the final third. The Maia born talent can also spray passes accurately from the middle of the park and is not afraid to pick out a final pass when his teammates are through on goal.

Liverpool lacked creativity and goal-scoring from their midfield quite often in the last campaign as they struggled to break down teams such as Leicester City and West Ham United that ended up costing them the Premier League title. Hence, a player of Fernandes’ ability will be a perfect signing as he could be the final piece in Klopp’s Anfield jigsaw.

The European goal-getter will undoubtedly bolster Klopp’s midfield options ahead of the new season. He will not only add a lot of goals and assists to the Reds’ midfield but has the potential to help the Merseyside outfit win their first Premier League title next season.
