Tottenham Hotspur will entertain Huddersfield Town at the new White Hart Lane at the back of a hard-fought 1-0 over Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night. Spurs come into this game with a lot of confidence and should fancy their chances of getting a positive result against the Terriers.
However, the Londoners cannot afford to get complacent as they will need to secure maximum points on Saturday afternoon if they are to earn a top 4 finish at the end of this campaign. Mauricio Pochettino is expected to opt for a 3-4-1-2 formation and this weekend’s clash could see the return of both Harry Winks and Lucas Moura back to the Tottenham starting XI.
3-4-1-2 Tottenham Hotspur Predicted Lineup To Face Huddersfield Town
Hugo Lloris will lineup as Pochettino’s first-choice shot-stopper after he managed to keep a clean sheet versus the Citizens in midweek. Tottenham could choose to go with a back three once again as Toby Alderweireld, Davinson Sanchez and Jan Vertonghen look to put in a dominant shift in their own half.
The North London outfit managed to put in a commanding performance at the back in their last outing so Pochettino would hope that his centre-backs can replicate the feat on Saturday afternoon.
Both Harry Winks and Moussa Sissoko will operate as the holding midfielders as they aim to retain possession and dictate plays in midfield. Danny Rose will try to use his pace down the left flank while Kieran Tripper laces up on the other side looking to deliver some inviting crosses during the game.
Christian Eriksen could feature in the number 10 role as the primary facilitator of Pochettino’s midfield. He needs to take up the duties of a playmaker in the absence of Dele Alli, who is also a major doubt for this encounter.
Spurs are set to start with both Lucas Moura and Heung-min Son up front. Harry Kane could miss the remainder of this campaign due to a severe ankle injury, so both Son and Moura are expected to share the goal-scoring workload in the attacking third of the pitch.
