Former Chelsea Forward Urges Liverpool To Sign This Premier League Ace: Good Fit For The Reds?

Former Chelsea striker Tony Cascarino has urged Liverpool to consider securing the services of Wilfried Zaha from Crystal Palace during the summer transfer window. In a recent interview with talkSPORT (via the Daily Mirror), Cascarino said, “Well, all of the top-six now are playing attack-minded football.

“Liverpool played Palace last year and I went to the game and Jurgen Klopp was consistently on Alexander-Arnold about Wilf Zaha, you could see it from the sideline.

“Literally tracking his movements, Zaha, the whole game.

“I kept thinking after that game, Klopp really does respect Zaha as a player and he knows how dangerous he is.

“It wouldn’t be a surprise to see him at Liverpool, but he could do a job for any of the top-six.”

Zaha’s Outstanding Spell At Selhurst Park

Cascarino’s advice could benefit Jurgen Klopp’s side as Zaha is a proven talent in the Premier League who has undoubtedly been Palace’s best player over the past few years. The Ivory Coast international has enjoyed another brilliant campaign with the Eagles in the English top-flight after putting in a string of eye-catching displays for the Selhurst based outfit during this campaign.

Zaha’s Stellar Record This Season

Zaha has featured in 33 matches for Roy Hodgson’s side this term, scoring nine goals while creating eight assists across all competitions. The former Manchester United talent has also earned nine international caps for Ivory Coast and has scored two goals for his nation thus far.

The Ivory Coast Sensation Is Getting Better With Each Season

What has caught the eye about him this season has been his amazing versatility to play in multiple positions across the frontline. He has primarily been deployed as a centre-forward but is equally dominant when he is operating as a winger out on the wide areas.

Is Zaha A Good Fit For The Reds?

The potential acquisition of a player of Zaha’s attacking prowess will undoubtedly bolster Klopp’s attacking options at the Merseyside club. The Ivory Coast international has all the makings of a world-class talent as long as Klopp can get the best out of him as he has done with other such promising talents such as Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah, Jordan Henderson and Andrew Robertson.

Hence, Zaha will be a fantastic fit for Liverpool as he will add more depth to the Liverpool squad and will also increase competition for places within Klopp’s frontline.
