It was a hard fought contest between Barcelona and Lyon at the Groupama Stadium as the two sides locked horns against each other in the Champions League matchup. The Blaugrana started to put pressure on the hosts from the word go but were unable to breach their defence as Lyon held their fort to end the match at 0-0.

The Lyon defence kept its composure throughout the match to keep the Barcelona attackers at bay. Players like Jason Denayer and Marcelo looked determined not to give too much free space to the likes of Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi. But the standout performer was the Lyon goalkeeper Anthony Lopes. He made a series of incredible saves to deny the Barcelona attackers from taking an advantage ahead of the second leg.

With both the teams having everything to play for in the return leg at Nou Camp, here is how the Barcelona players were rated from their draw against Lyon.

Marc Andre Ter Stegen: 6

Had a rather quiet night in the goal with the Lyon attackers not being able to take many shots on the Barcelona goal.

Nelson Semedo: 6

Did well to get the ball into the path of the midfielders and build the attack from deep. Looked a bit on the backfoot while backtracking and picked up a needless yellow card in the later stages of the match.

Gerard Pique: 7

A solid performance from the defensive ace as he made sure nothing went past him. Kept breathing on the shoulders of Moussa Dembele throughout the match.

Clement Lenglet: 7

Dished out an equally good performance alongside Pique and helped Ter Stegen get a clean sheet.

Jordi Alba: 7

Agile and flamboyant as always as the Spaniard delivered a number of lethal balls in the danger area for his teammates. Made some brilliant runs down the left flank as well.

Sergi Roberto: 7

Often pushed forward with the ball in his new role in midfield. Picked up a booking for a foul on Memphis Depay right before being substituted.

Sergio Busquets: 7

Brilliant defensive display in the midfield from the Spaniard. Was denied by Lopes as he failed to give his side an advantage in the dying minutes of the game.

Ivan Rakitic: 6

Kept getting the ball in the right areas with his accurate passes. Wasted a good opportunity to give his side the lead in the early minutes as his shot went wide.

Ousmane Dembele: 6

Squandered two brilliant chances to get his side in the lead. Tormented the opposition defence with his classy footwork quite a few times.

Lionel Messi: 7

Looked lethal from the word go. Got a number of shots on the goal but Lopes was brilliant in the goal for Lyon.

Luis Suarez: 6

Had at least three chances to give Barcelona the lead but was denied by Lopes. Would be disappointed not to be able to end his goal drought.

Arturo Vidal: NA

Played too little to warrant a rating.

Philippe Coutinho: NA

Played too little to warrant a rating.
