Manchester United will entertain Fulham at the Old Trafford on Saturday looking to return to winning ways after two successive draws against Southampton and Arsenal respectively. The Red Devils should be reasonably confident about their chances of securing maximum points against the Cottagers, who are currently sitting rock bottom of the Premier League table.
However, Claudio Ranieri’s recent appointment as the Fulham manager has seen things improve on the pitch, but anything other than a United win this weekend would be a significant upset for the home team. Jose Mourinho is expected to stick with his favoured 4-3-3 formation and he might make a number of changes to his side due to injuries.
4-3-3 Manchester United Predicted Lineup To Face Fulham
David De Gea will take his place in goal for the upcoming visit of Fulham at Old Trafford but he might be tested at the back with Aleksander Mitrovic set to lead the line for Ranieri’s team. The Spaniard has conceded four goals in his last two league starts for United so he needs to improve on that record or else his team might drop more points over the next few weeks.
The defensive duo of Marcos Rojo and Phil Jones might feature in central defence in the absence of the injured Victor Lindelof. Both Chris Smalling and Eric Bailly are major doubts for this encounter which is why Mourinho might be forced to deploy his second choice options. Diogo Dalot might feature as a makeshift left-back while Antonio Valencia could return to Mourinho’s starting XI and resume his right-back duties.
Luke Shaw and Matteo Darmian are unlikely to recover in time to start against the Cottagers this weekend.
The midfield trio of Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic and Ander Herrera have formed a formidable partnership at the centre of the pitch so they might start together versus Fulham on Saturday.
Marouane Fellaini could be demoted to the bench once again following his dismal showing in the second half versus Arsenal.
The Man United front three will be comprised of Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard. Both Martial and Lingard found the back of the net against the Gunners in midweek which should give them a shot of confidence going into this weekend’s clash at Old Trafford.
Alexis Sanchez can be ruled out of this match with a hamstring injury but the likes of Romelu Lukaku and Juan Mata should be available on Mourinho’s bench and might come on to provide some added firepower if required.
