Manchester City clinched their 14th win of the season as they defeated Everton by 3-1 at the Etihad Stadium. Gabriel Jesus scored twice and Raheem Sterling came off the bench to score the third for the Citizens as the reigning Premier League champions went to the top of the table leapfrogging Liverpool.
Pep Guardiola’s men started to put pressure on the opposition from the word go, and their tactics paid off in the 22nd minute as the Brazilian striker gave City the lead. The German turned provider once again as Jesus scored his second of the evening in the 50th minute. Fernandinho provided the assist for the last goal as Sterling headed the ball home from close range and led his side to a convincing victory.
Everton forwards Richarlison and Theo Walcott missed a number of chances to get their side back into the contest, but it was Dominic Calvert Lewin who scored the only goal for the Toffees in the 65th minute. However, it was too little too less for the visitors.
Here is how the Manchester City players were rated from their win against Everton.
Had very little work to do as the Everton forwards shot over the crossbar on most occasions. Could do nothing to stop the goal.

Good performance contributing in the attack but looked shaky defensively.
Nicolas Otamendi: 6
Looked a little bit on the backfoot against Richarlison but delivered a quality performance overall to keep his goal safe.
Aymeric Laporte: 7
Took a few knocks and went to the ground throughout the match but did his job well by keeping the Everton players at bay.
Fabian Delph: 6
Showed aggression on the attack but defensively looked weak. Picked up a yellow card in the dying minutes of the game.
Bernardo Silva: 7
A calm and composed performance from the Portuguese midfielder.
Kept making challenges and broke up the Everton attacks on a regular basis.
Ilkay Gundogan: 6
Did well to deliver the ball into the danger area on a number of occasions. Gave away possession at times though.

Good work in building the attack as he delivered a few balls into the danger area. Lacked finishing though.

Another superb performance from the young German international as he dished out two assists for Jesus.
Gabriel Jesus: 8
A prolific performance from the Brazilian striker as he scored twice on the day.
Raheem Sterling: 7
Dished out a solid effort on the pitch after coming on for Mahrez and scored the third goal for his side. Kept threatening the opposition defence with his sublime skills throughout the match.
Kevin De Bruyne: 5.5
Did well in his limited time on the pitch. The Manchester City fans would surely be delighted to see him back in the squad.
