Tottenham Hotspur Keeping Tabs On This 19 Y/O Ipswich Midfielder: A Scout Report

According to a recent report by Football. London, Tottenham Hotspur are set to reignite their interest in Ipswich Town wonderkid Andre Dozzell. It is understood that a whole host of clubs including Spurs were keeping tabs on the progress of the Championship youngster before he suffered a severe injury in 2017. The 19-year-old played his first game after recovering from a cruciate ligament injury as he featured for the final 19 minutes in his team’s loss against Middlesbrough last week.

The Rise Of Andre Dozzell

Dozzell grew up playing his youth football for the Tractor Boys before graduating from their academy and earning a promotion to Ipswich’s first-team in the summer of 2016. Since then, he has made 13 senior appearances for the Championship outfit and had one goal to his name across all competitions.

The English starlet has also represented his nation at various youth levels from Under-16 onwards and is in for a promising career in football as long as he can fulfil his massive potential. At the tender age of 19, Dozzell still has a lot of time to develop into a world-class midfielder, and there is no better manager than Mauricio Pochettino to nurture him in the coming years.

What Will He Offer To Pochettino’s Team?

Dozzell is quite useful while playing in a box to box midfield role and is very quick which helps him get away from his marker and find space out of tight areas. He is also a good passer of the ball which makes him a valuable asset for Ipswich Town.

One For The Future?

Tottenham are looking to build for a bigger and brighter future under Pochettino, so the North London outfit needs to sign a few promising youngsters if they want to establish themselves as one of the best teams in England for a prolonged period. Spurs are currently a bit short in the midfield department so bringing in another new face at the middle of the park would improve their squad depth while Dozzell can also be a long-term replacement for Mousa Dembele.

The Ipswich talent has a bright future in English football which is why Pochettino should do everything he can to try and lure him to the White Hart Lane shortly.
