Is Fabio Capello Right By Urging Real Madrid To Sign This 25 Y/O Argentine Forward?

According to the former Real Madrid manager Fabio Capello, Inter Milan’s Mauro Icardi will be the perfect signing for the Galacticos following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo earlier this year. The Italian head coach believes that the Serie A centre-forward could be the solution to Madrid’s recent problems in front of goal.

Speaking with Marca, Capello said, “I’m a fan of Icardi. If I were at Real Madrid I would sign him immediately.

“He is a player who ‘sees and feels’ the goal, he knows how to move in the penalty area like few others, if you put three balls in the area he hits all three.

“He’s a specialist in the penalty area, as was Cristiano Ronaldo.”

It is clear from Capello’s comments that he fancies the Inter Milan striker to be a big hit at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium if the Galacticos can manage to lure him to the Spanish capital in the near future.

The departure of Ronaldo has significantly depleted Julen Lopetegui’s attack up top and so the Madrid boss is in dire need of some reinforcements during the winter transfer window. The potential addition of Icardi will undoubtedly bolster the Galacticos’ attacking options and will add more competition for places within Lopetegui’s squad.

The 25-year-old forward scored 29 goals in 36 matches for the San Siro based side last season. Icardi seems to have carried forward the same form into this season as he has already found the back of the net five times while creating two assists in 8 appearances for Inter across all competitions.

Icardi has scored a memorable goal against Tottenham Hotspur in the UEFA Champions League which has once again showcased that he is currently one of the best strikers in European football. Capello makes a whole lot of sense by urging his former club to move in for the Argentine forward as he can galvanise Lopetegui’s frontline, which could lead to more trophies at the end of this campaign.

It won’t be an easy feat to prize him away from Italy, especially considering how integral he is to the current Inter team led by the experienced Luciano Spalletti.
