According to a recent report by the Mirror, Chelsea are hoping to secure the services of Borussia Dortmund wonderkid Jadon Sancho. It is believed that the Pensioners are set to battle with a whole host of clubs in their attempts to lure the English youngster back to the Premier League. It has also been revealed that Dortmund are looking for a fee in the region of £100m if they are to part ways with their prized asset.
Sancho’s Football Career In A Nutshell
The English midfielder kicked off his playing career at Watford before completing a move to Manchester City in 2015. He played for the City Under-18 side but was not able to break into their senior team. The London-born talent joined Borussia Dortmund last year in search of regular first-team opportunities.
Since his switch to German football, Sancho has caught the eye with some majestic performances at the Westfalenstadion so far. The English prospect has featured in 10 matches for Dortmund this season, scoring one goal while providing nine assists in all competitions.
What Will The English Winger Add To Maurizio Sarri’s Team?
Sancho is lightning quick on the ball and can dribble past opposition defenders quite effortlessly when he is in form. He has also developed a habit of finding space and delivering some excellent crosses into the opposition box which makes him a crucial part of Lucien Favre’s team.
The fact that he has been able to get nine assists in 10 games for the German giants this season is quite astonishing. At the tender of 18, Sancho still has his whole career ahead of him, so he has enough time to develop his game and strive for excellence.
Is Sancho Worth £100m?
In today’s inflated market, we have seen many European giants cough up a ginormous transfer fee to get their targets. Hence, it should not be a surprise if one of the major English clubs decided to pay that hefty fee to seal a move for Sancho.
The English winger has incredible potential and could turn out to be the next big thing in European football. Hence, if Chelsea are looking to utilise his talents on a regular basis to build for a bigger and brighter future at Stamford Bridge, then they should undoubtedly look to sign him for £100m rather than risk losing him to one of their rivals.
