Leeds United would look to get back to winning ways after Birmingham City halted their winning run in the last game at Elland Road. The Whites suffered a 2-1 defeat, but Bielsa’s men did have enough chances to come back in the game after they went 2-0 down. So we don’t expect a state of panic among the team after the defeat and United would like to continue with what they have been doing.

Manager Marcelo Bielsa has even stepped up and said that he is not going to make any changes from the last game unless he has to make some forced ones due to any late injuries. The manager is showing a big vote of confidence in his current players, and the players should return the favour by giving the manager and the Whites faithful all three points when they take on Sheffield Wednesday next.

Gaetano Berardi, Pablo Hernandez, Conor Shaughnessy, Kemar Roofe and Patrick Bamford are all going to miss out due to injuries. Roofe should be closing in on a return but could still be a week away from a start. Jamie Shackleton recovered from his injury and was on the bench in the last game.

Leeds United’s Predicted Lineup vs Sheffield Wednesday

Formation (4-1-4-1)

Bailey Peacock Farrell made a significant error in the last game, and there is some section of the fans who want Jamal Blackman to replace him. However, dropping him after one bad game would send wrong signals to the player. Therefore, we expect him to start in goal.

With no options available apart from Liam Cooper and Pontus Jansson in the centre back role, there is hardly any room for change. The Whites would hope that both can come out of this game injury free. Out on the left, Barry Douglas would wish to continue his good work. Down the right flank, Luke Ayling should start.

If left to us, we would have made some changes as Stuart Dallas looked promising in the last game when he came on. However, Bielsa is going to go in with Kalvin Phillips in the defensive midfield role. Further ahead of him, Samuel Saiz and Mateusz Klich will start. Saiz will begin in a more dynamic and attacking role.

Down the left flank, Ezgjan Alioski will get the nod. His performances have dropped in recent times but in the last game he scored a good goal, and that would give him some confidence. Young Jack Harrison has been improving, but Bielsa would want him to bring more composure to his game when he gets the ball in the attacking third.

With no real alternatives at the gaffer’s disposal, Tyler Roberts is set to start his third game running. The 19-year-old Welshman has shown promising signs with his movements up front. He can improve on his finishing.
