According to latest reports, Barcelona‘s winger Gerard Deulofeu is set to complete a €10m move to Watford soon and we can see him turn out for the Hornets next season on a permanent basis. It is clear that the Barcelona man has fallen down the pecking order over the last few seasons and it is certain now that the youngster doesn’t have a future with the Catalonian outfit.

Watford manager Javi Garcia has also indicated that they are keen on securing a deal for him. Deulofeu has gone on the record quite a few times and has made it clear that he doesn’t want to return to Barcelona. He had earlier said,” It’s clear that I will not be returning to Barca, I do not think the coach would want me back at Barca and I have been told by Watford that I am wanted, so it could be that I stay at the club. I cannot say what will happen and we must wait but now I’m back from my injury and now I hope to finish the season strongly. I need to remain calm and make the right decision, but a Barca return is not likely.”

Those are certainly some strong words from the 24-year-old and it seems that he has been left miffed the way Barcelona hasn’t given him regular first-team opportunities. After the departure of Neymar, it was expected that Deulofeu will get more chances in the playing eleven but Barcelona went on to sign Ousmane Dembele for big money in the 2017 summer transfer window.

The Spaniard was touted to have a big future and his future was looking bright. However, it didn’t turn out as everyone expected and Deulofeu has had to struggle for every cap at Camp Nou.

Deulofeu is a skilful player who generally plays down the right wing but can also fit in the left wing role. He is blessed with great technique and his dribbling skills allow him to wriggle out of tight spaces. He might just have to improve on his physical aspect as sometimes he is shrugged off the ball quite easily.

The Spaniard has had a good stint in English football as he previously played for Everton. Even with the Hornets, he has made some useful contributions whenever he has been available and he will certainly solve some of their creative and attacking woes if they bring him at Vicarage Road on a permanent basis.
