Leicester City have been linked with a move for Norwich City attacking midfielder James Maddison. However, they need to step on the gas if they want to sign him as Everton are currently considered as favourites to sign him. Maddison has been one of the few bright sparks at Carrow Road as he helped his team to secure a 14th place finish in the recently concluded season.

A lot was expected from a team who were in the Premier League not too long ago but the Canaries have been nowhere near the playoff spots and after a dismal season like that, they can lose some of their prized assets to the bigger fishes in the sea.

As for Leicester, the Foxes have had an inconsistent season and managed to finish ninth in the 2017-18 campaign. They were not able to maintain any sort of momentum as they kept losing frequently after a couple of good performances.

Claude Puel will like to add a lot more stability to this side and will be hoping to at least challenge for the Europa League spot next season. Maddison can be a good option for them on the attacking front as the youngster seems to have all the facets to his game needed to succeed in the English top flight.

This could be an instrumental transfer window for Leicester City’s future as they can lose some of their key players. Riyad Mahrez has been consistently linked with a move to Premier League holders Manchester City and it is likely that he will start in a much lighter shade of blue next season.

Claude Puel’s side has been dependent on Mahrez and Jamie Vardy on the attacking front and even Vardy is now being linked with a move away. However, it is unlikely that Leicester will sell two of their key assets in the same transfer window.

Maddison will be a good option in the final third and can start behind Vardy in a number 10 role. He might take some time to adjust to life in the top flight but the 21-year-old has huge potential. He managed 15 goals and eleven assists in the just concluded season in a below par team.

With better team-mates around him, he can easily go on to produce better numbers. He has everything that a typical No. 10 needs as he can make those defence-splitting passes and can pop in the box now and again to score some crucial goals. It is very likely that he will make a move to the Premier League next season but will it be with Leicester? Only time will tell.
