Hull City’s Abel Hernandez took to social media to bid goodbye to the club’s fans after his 4-years at KCOM Stadium. The striker is finishing his Tigers story with 110 senior team caps and 36 total goals. Nigel Adkins and the rest of the Hull fans are gutted to see their Uruguayan centre-forward leave, especially with Leeds United lurking at the gates for a free pickup.

Andrea Radrizzani’s Leeds have been touted to be favourites in the race for the 27-year-old’s signature much to the dismay of the Tigers faithful. Now is the time for the Elland Road-based outfit to make a serious approach for the centre-forward.

Signing a player of Hernandez’s pedigree will certainly help them make an improved run for promotion next season. The 27-year-old is a proven talent in the Championship and is in the best form of his career. He struck the back of the net 8 times in just 10 games late into the 2017/18 campaign.

An injury to the Achilles kept him out of action for the majority of the season but the Uruguayan still managed to make an inspired comeback – a final say towards interested outfits to offer him a lucrative deal.

Hernandez has also been capped 27 times for the Uruguay national team. He is the backup option to Edinson Cavani and Luis Suarez for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. The Pando-born forward can beat defenders on the dribble and has a solid physical presence on the pitch.

The striker has a keen scoring eye and has already played in the Premier League. He has 122 caps for Palermo and is currently one of the most prolific number nines in the English second division.

Getting him for free will be nothing but a miracle for Leeds United who are in dire need of attacking reinforcements. Radrizzani and the rest of Leeds hierarchy should look to wrap up a permanent deal for Hernandez as soon as possible.
