After the horror show at Kyiv, German ace Loris Karius may find it tough to break into the first team at Liverpool next season. But he only replaced Simon Mignolet at the first choice at Anfield after the turn of the year, leaving the Reds short on options at the back. Jurgen Klopp has been desperately searching for players who can solve the crisis under the bar at the club but is yet to find any luck.
There are a number of players Liverpool are after but Brazilian star Alisson Becker has been on the top of the wish list for Klopp. However, he is valued in excess of €70m and prefers a move to Real Madrid so Klopp has decided not to waste his resources on the AS Roma man. But who can he now sign? Here are three alternatives for Alisson that Liverpool should consider this summer:
Jan Oblak (Atletico Madrid):
The Slovenian international, helped by one of the best defensive lines in the game, has established himself among the top-5 shot-stoppers in the game at the moment. He is settled in Madrid but is still linked with an exit with Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool interested in his services. He has a release clause of €100m which might be a bit expensive but he is still 25 and could solve the problems at Liverpool for almost a decade. He is probably the best option available in the market for the Reds.
Nick Pope (Burnley):
Though not a popular option among Liverpool fans, English international Nick Pope is certainly a player who fits the bill for Liverpool. He may not be an audacious shot stopper but he has 10 clean sheets in his debut season in the top flight and is an upgrade on the options currently at Anfield. He will only cost £15m and is an absolute steal in the current transfer market. He has previous experience in the league and is a more than decent option for Liverpool.

Thibaut Courtois (Chelsea):
Though not linked with a move to Liverpool, Belgian international Thibaut Courtois, whose contract with Chelsea runs down till the end of the next season, has decided not to extend his stay at Stamford Bridge. He would naturally wait for a call from Real Madrid but could be tempted to move to Liverpool, thanks to the first team spot that is waiting for him. He is also among the best in the world at the moment and if Liverpool can land him, it could be a masterstroke from the Reds.
