Manchester United are in talks with Real Betis over the potential transfer of Andreas Pereira this summer. According to recent reports, the La Liga side are eager to secure the services of the Brazilian midfielder during this summer transfer period.
Pereira has impressed while on loan at Valencia last season and some of his dazzling displays in the Spanish top-flight has not gone unnoticed. Some sources are now claiming that Betis are inching closer towards completing a transfer for the Brazilian wide man in this summer window.
He came through the youth ranks at United but has failed to break into Jose Mourinho’s first-team so far. Thus, it could be beneficial for Pereira’s career if he opts for a switch away from Old Trafford this summer in search of greener pastures.
Pereira had featured in 29 matches for Valencia last season, scoring one goal while grabbing 5 assists in all competitions. He has also represented his nation Brazil at the Under-23 level scoring one goal in his only appearance at that level. United could also look to trim their squad by selling some of their unwanted players which could pave the way for Pereira’s move to Spain.
United had only managed to grind out a second-place finish in the English top tier last season. It was a frustrating campaign without silverware for the Red Devils which will be a cause for concern for their fans. Hence, Mourinho should concentrate on bringing in some much-needed reinforcements in this summer transfer period if his club are going to challenge for major silverware in the upcoming season.
Retaining some of their top stars could go a long way in helping them close the gap to Manchester City in the title race next term. However, Pereira is clearly not fancied by the Special One and it seems highly unlikely that he will get regular game time at Old Trafford next term. A potential move to Betis will definitely benefit the Brazilian’s career and help him take his game to the next level.

Pereira is quite versatile and can operate in a number of different positions across the frontline. He primarily plays on the left flank but can also be deployed on the right wing or in the number 10 position which makes him a perfect fit for any of his potential suitors. Only time will tell what lies ahead in the future of Pereira and whether he ends up plying his trade in the La Liga this summer.
