Leeds United‘s French winger Hadi Sacko could be on his way out of the club as he recently claimed on his social media platform that he is unsure about his future with the Whites. The winger had a disappointing stint this term as he managed just one goal in 18 appearances and wasn’t able to provide much in the assist bracket as well.
His last appearance came on March 7th when he started against league leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers. However, he was substituted at halftime and it seems that he hasn’t been able to impress his new manager. He has played very little since Paul Heckingbottom took over and one feels that his time could be up at the Elland Road.
He shared his feelings on Instagram and said,”Not the season I expected on personal plan but no matter what you guys always have been great support, through all the ups and downs we faced this year. I just wanted to say thank you, I don’t know what the future will be made of but one thing is sure, I’ll never forget my time here.”
The Peacocks will be in need of major rebuilding if they want to come close to the playoff spot next season. They started their season well under Danish manager Thomas Christiansen as they were unbeaten in their first seven games. However, their season has spiralled down since then and Christiansen was given the boot in February after a string of poor results. Since Heckingbottom took charge, Leeds haven’t seen many changes in their fortune but in such a short time one shouldn’t expect miracles.
Sacko was signed with a lot of Gung-ho last year after he did decently with the Peacocks on a loan spell in the 2016-17 season. But since his permanent move, the Frenchman has failed to turn up and show his mettle which was expected of him at the club in the first place.
The winger has represented France at various youth level tournaments but chose to represent Mali when he came of age as he is likely to play for the African country on a regular basis. The Leeds fans and board would have expected much more of their foreign recruit but it seems that Heckingbottom doesn’t rate him highly.

The former Barnsley manager will probably look to sign a replacement for him in the transfer window and it seems that Sacko’s time with the Peacocks might be coming to a premature end as his contract at the club is until 2020.
