Wolves Players Rated In Comfortable Victory Vs Derby County: 9/10 For Ruben Neves!

Wolverhampton Wanderers played hosts to Derby County on Wednesday night looking to edge one step closer to the Skybet Championship title. The home team got off to a great start when Diogo Jota scored in the 6th minute. Both teams battled hard and Nuno Espirito Santo’s side went into half-time with a 1-0 advantage.

The second half began with the West Midlands side on the front foot and they deservedly scored their second goal in the 51st minute courtesy of Ruben Neves’ wonder-strike. The match ended with the Wolves securing a comfortable 2-0 victory on the night.

GK: John Ruddy – 6.5/10

He made a few routine saves but was otherwise, left untroubled in the Wolves goal.

CB: Ryan Bennett – 7/10

He commanded the Wolves defence well and managed to keep a clean sheet during the contest.

He defended well and looked composed on the ball.

He notched up with a brilliant assist for the Diogo Jota opener and also kept a clean sheet on the night.

RM: Matt Doherty – 7/10

He put in a tireless shift and was a constant threat in the opposition half.

CM: Rúben Neves – 9/10

He scored one of the goals of the season when his stunning strike from 25 yards nestled into the back of the net. His goal secured the points for the home team with the club now just one victory away from clinching the league title.

CM: Romain Saiss – 7/10

He bossed the midfield for Wolves during this game but he still has a lot to improve.

LM: Barry Douglas – 7/10

He had a good game down the left flank. His delivery from set-pieces was often on the mark.

RS: Ivan Cavaleiro – 7/10

He put in some dangerous crosses from the right side of the Wolves frontline.

ST: Diogo Jose Jota – 8/10

He scored the opening goal of the game for Wolves which helped them control the match and grind out another crucial win in their pursuit of the league title.

LS: Benik Afobe – 7/10

He was unlucky not to score during the contest. He wasted a couple of good opportunities in the first half but came back strong after the break.


ST: Wander Helder Costa – 6/10

He came off the bench but struggled to leave his impression on the game.

CM: Morgan Gibbs-White – 6/10

He came on to see out the victory for the West Midlands outfit.

ST: Lohner Leo Bonatini – 6/10

He tried his best to make a difference during the final quarter of the match.
