What does a club do when they have hit rock bottom?
That is exactly what had happened to Swansea City who had been hit down by every club in the league until recently. The Swans were sure to suffer relegation and were 20th in the table. However, there has been a sudden and positive change in the club. When their old manager Clement was sacked, the club was worried. Clement had been the one who had after all rescued the club last season.
This season, however, the magic of Clement had stopped working and Swansea were drowning. The new man came in in the form of Carvalhal and he changed the face of the club in a matter of weeks. Wins against top sides and mid-table clubs tagged along with positive results week after week has seen Swansea escape the relegation zone.
They are now prepping for the next season as they are more or less assured of escaping relegation unless they drop their form dramatically. They are now gunning up for season 2018-19 with a new player now linked with a move to Swansea.
The player in question here is Moussa Marega of Porto. Swansea City are likely to face competition from other Premier League clubs like Everton and West Ham. This is a worrying reason for Swansea as not only are Everton and West Ham financially more powerful than them, the two clubs also have more attraction power than the Swans.
The story does not just end here with 25 different club scouts apparently present at the stadium to watch the players in action. The striker Marega has a healthy £ 35 million rage on him which makes the 25-year-old an expensive buy. He has been long linked with a move to the Premier League and it may be set to come true next season.
As for Swansea, they will do well to buff up their attack come next season. The Swans are smart enough to move in for a new player who will get them goals. Any team knows that the easiest way to move out of trouble and into a healthy position is to get goals and a proven goal scorer could just do that.
That is where the move for Marega becomes important and the Swans should seriously consider making a move for him.
