Newcastle United have been linked with Hull city striker Abel Hernandez. The 27-year-old had an injury ridden season with the Tigers but he has scored 5 goals in his last seven since his comeback. He will become a free agent in the summer as his contract is running out in the summer.
Rafael Benitez has done a terrific job with The Magpies in the last two seasons. After securing promotion in the last season, Newcastle were expected to be in a relegation scrap this season. But currently they are sitting in the top half of the table and their future in the top flight is relatively secured. Benitez has made this team defensively strong and they have been tough to score against. In the middle of the park, Jonjo Shelvey has been a revelation as he has been pulling the strings and controlling the tempo of the game. Newcastle have slightly suffered due to poor forms of Joselu and Dwight Gayle and bringing in Abel Hernandez can solve their problem.
Abel Hernandez is an able striker and has scored 39 times for the Tigers in his stint with them and has also represented his national team Uruguay. He is known for his bursting pace and likes to take on defenders. Sometimes his composure in front of goal lets him down but he can be a good addition to the current Newcastle squad as they are in need of players who can take the opposition on, especially in the attacking half of the pitch.
Hull City are having a poor season under Nigel Adkins as they are languishing in the bottom half of the table. Things could have been worse for them if not for Liverpool loanee Harry Wilson, as he has been instrumental in the last few months. The Tigers were expected to mount a better challenge for promotion to the Premier League but the club has had a dismal season and that might be one of the factors for the Uruguayan international to look for a better option to ply his trade for.

Rafael Benitez is in the market for a striker and Hernandez can be the man where his hunt ends. Benitez has found some success by partnering two strikers up front and they are expected to play in that way in the upcoming season also, so the acquisition of the 27-year-old marksman can beef up their offence.
