21 Y/O Norwich City Ace High On The Radar Of Top PL Clubs Including Manchester City: A Scout Report!

Norwich City star James Maddison has been linked with a move to the Premier League with a number of clubs interested in securing his services this summer. According to recent reports, Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur are all ready to make a move for his signature when the transfer window opens this summer. The Coventry-born youngster has been in sensational form for the Canaries during the course of this campaign which has not gone unnoticed.

The 21-year-old midfielder has featured in 47 matches for the Championship club this season, scoring 15 goals while creating 11 assists in all competitions. Here is a detailed scout report of the Norwich City starlet ahead of a potential big-money move to the Premier League this summer.

Player Profile:

Full name – James Daniel Maddison
Date of birth – 23/11/1996 (age 21)
Born In – Coventry, West Midlands
Height – 1.75 m (5ft 9in)
Position – Attacking Midfielder
Current Club: Norwich City (51 apps/ 16 goals)
National team: England (0 caps/ 0 goals)

Brief History:

Maddison played for the youth ranks at Coventry City and was a standout talent in their Under-18 team. He made his senior debut with the Sky Blues first-team at the mere age of 17. On his senior debut, in a 4-1 loss to Oldham in October 2014, the youngster scored his first professional goal with an outstanding free-kick. Soon after, the club offered the talented English starlet a professional three-year-contract. In the summer of 2016, Norwich City decided to take a chance on him, sealing a move for Maddison before loaning him back to Coventry. He also had a loan spell at Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership earlier on in his career.

Player Commendations:

Daniel Farke, Norwich City manager: “James Maddison has been a brilliant player for us this season.

“He is able to influence the balance of the games, he is able to score, he is able to provide assists, his set pieces are outstanding.

“His body language is so good for someone of a young age. He is a leader.”

Player Strengths:

Maddison primarily operates as an attacking midfielder in the number 10 position. He has great vision and awareness on the ball. The 21-year-old can dribble with the ball and has a keen eye for a defence-splitting pass. His shots from distance are also accurate. He has created more chances than any other player in the English Championship this season which shows how effective he can be in his position.

Player Weaknesses:

Maddison needs to improve his finishing if he is to get into double figures while scoring goals in the top tier of English football. His positioning can also be better if he wants to cut the mustard at one of the top clubs in the Premier League.

It remains to be seen what lies ahead in the future of Maddison and whether he ends up plying his trade in the English top-flight next season.
