Federico Chiesa the talented Fiorentina winger is linked with a move to the Merseyside club Liverpool. Chiesa is the son of former striker Enrico Chiesa and at just 20 years of age has already represented his national side Italy. According to reports, along with Liverpool, there are a host of other big clubs that are also on the lookout for the Italian winger.
Liverpool are flying high this season under Jurgen Klopp as they are in with a chance of pulling an unlikely win in the Champions League. They have one foot in the final as they secured a comfortable 5-2 victory against their Italian opponents ASRoma in the first leg of the semi-final which took place at Anfield.
Chiesa is a left winger and usually plays as an inverted winger as his dominant foot is the right one. Traditionally, a left winger is supposed to be left-footed so that he can cross down the flanks using his dominant left foot. But now we usually see inverted wingers in action as this allows them to cut outside and move to the centre of the pitch to influence the team’s play from such positions.
The Italian winger is highly rated as he has all the skills and abilities to become a top player. He can go past defenders with ease and uses his agility and speed to good effect. He is quite a versatile as he has been deployed in various positions across the midfield. He has played in the middle of the park and in the no 10 role and can also play in the second striker’s role. He is predominantly left-footed but also has a decent right foot and that certainly makes him a big future prospect.
Liverpool are enjoying a good season as their front trio of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino have been prolific in front of goal. However, Liverpool lack depth in the wings department and an injury to any of the front three can cause them a lot of problems. Adam Lallana is an able replacement but he has been sidelined by injuries lately and hasn’t been the same player after those injuries.

Even if Liverpool manage to do the unthinkable and win the Champions League, they will still need some players to improve their chances in other competitions for the next season. Liverpool currently have strong first eleven and they can certainly do with a player like Enrico Chiesa.
