There comes a player once in a generation who changes the face of the game. He is simply better than the rest in everything he does and seems to have in abundance the gift of the Gods and lady luck shining on him at all times. However, there also comes a player who has the exact flip side of the coin. He is not lucky in catching a break, he does not have the natural gift to play and he is simply wrong on every move he makes.
When Chelsea signed Tiemoue Bakayoko last year, the Frenchman came in with a great reputation. He had, after all, a successful season with the then French Champions AS Monaco as he was their first team star. His arrival signaled the departure of Nemanja Matic, a trusted Chelsea soldier. Secondly, he was also compared to Manchester United ace Paul Pogba.
He was tipped to have similar strength, guile, power and influence as that of the skilful Pogba. It has been 10 months since his arrival and Bakayoko has been a blunder of the highest order. He has played a handful of games after which point even Antonio Conte could not turn a blind eye to Bakayoko’s shows of disaster.
The player can be forgiven for not getting used to the fast pace of the English Premier League but it is hard to see a player like him not being able to find his footing on the English soil and remaining clueless most of the times with his decision making out on the pitch.
In his time at central midfield, he has produced more for the opposition than for the Blues. He has done his best to undermine the influence of the energetic N’Golo Kante and Kante’s main focus has been on clearing up Bakayoko’s mess at the club.
Whenever Bakayoko has been on the pitch, he has misplaced the ball, made a bad pass, jumped in on a late and silly tackle and more importantly hampered every chance Chelsea has had. He has single-handedly lost the Blues multiple matches and even after 10 months, he has not learnt much.

He is undoubtedly a talented midfielder but has to compose himself in a better way to find his long-lost form and should focus on rebuilding his basics of football. It is being reported that Chelsea are unwilling to part ways with him and if the reports are true, the decision might look a bit ludicrous in perspective of the present turn of events and bite them back.
