La Liga Attacking Superstar Denies Barcelona Links: Huge Blow For Valverde’s Plans?

Antoine Greizmann the French superstar, has been linked with a host of European giants in the previous transfer windows and the fact that the current season is coming to an end, the speculation and transfer rumours are back. Greizmann was heavily linked to Manchester United in the last summer transfer window but he stayed at Atletico Madrid to the delight of Madrid fans. At present, he was being linked to Barcelona but the Frenchman has come out and clearly denied any speculation regarding his move to Barcelona.

In March, the club president Enrique Cerezo tried to douse the fire on the speculation and said that he expects Greizmann to commit his future at Atletico Madrid till 2022. The latest claim made by Greizzmann will certainly give the club a boost. On asked about his possible move to Barcelona, he said-‘’ I don’t know where you get this information, but it is false.” Greizmann intends to finish the season strong and then think about the upcoming World Cup as he is expected to lead the lines for the French team.

He further added-‘’ I want to be free and think only about the French team. I would like my future to be settled before the World Cup, otherwise, afterwards, we will have questions to the right and the left. I will continue as I am now, giving everything to the club.’’

Such remarks will surely go down well with the fans and it is good to see the player coming out and clearing the air regarding his future. Greizman has been the star man for Atletico Madrid this season as he has scored 25 times and assisted 11times.

Barcelona is expected to at least win the double this season as they are leading the La Liga race and are in the finals of the Copa Del Rey. Barcelona have already made a huge investment in last two transfer window as they signed Ousmane Dembele and Philippe Coutinho. They have been attacking well throughout this season.

Barcelona currently doesn’t need a player of Greizmann quality as they will find it tough to accommodate him in the playing XI. Griezmann can go to any other club and become their main man but he will be second fiddle to the likes of Messi and Suarez at Barcelona. He will certainly won’t prefer a move to a team at this point of his career where he isn’t assured of regular start and it was good to see the player coming out and denying the rumours regarding his Barcelona Move.
