Vitoria de Guimaraes are plotting a move for on-loan Celtic forward Odsonne Edouard this summer. According to recent reports, the Paris Saint Germain player is close to making a switch to Portuguese football at the end of this season. The French giants have recently set up a partnership with Vitoria de Guimaraes which could pave the way for the 20-year-old’s arrival in the top tier of Portuguese football.

The French youngster is currently on loan at Celtic Park and has put in some impressive performances for the Glaswegian side this season. His dazzling display versus Rangers helped Brendan Rodgers’ side grab a thrilling 3-2 victory at the Ibrox Stadium. The Hoops are under the impression that they could make Edouard’s transfer a permanent one for a mere fee of £7m from the Parisian side. However, Rodgers has confirmed that the club will discuss the Frenchman’s future at the end of the season.

Edouard has featured in 26 matches for Celtic this season, scoring 8 goals and providing three assists in all competitions. Some sources are also claiming that PSG’s sporting director Antero Henrique has agreed to let the French striker leave to play for Vitoria de Guimaraes in the next campaign.

With his future at Celtic Park up in smokes, let’s take a look at three potential replacements for the Hoops to consider in the off-season.

Thierry Ambrose

The Dutch Eredivisie ace has been in sensational form for NAC Breda this season and is exactly the kind of forward Celtic could benefit from. The French forward has made 30 appearances this term, scoring 10 goals and providing 6 assists in all competitions. At 21, he has massive potential to grow and develop into a future star.

Jordan Siebatcheu

The Stade Reims forward has been lighting up the Ligue 2 with his eye-catching performances this season. The 21-year-old has featured in 29 matches for the French club this term, scoring 12 goals and creating 7 assists in all competitions. He has a lot of potential which the Hoops could look to capitalise on in the coming years.
