Wolverhampton Wanderers will play hosts to Birmingham City on Sunday at the Molineux Stadium looking to maintain their march towards the Skybet Championship title. Nuno Espirito Santo’s side will be aware that a victory this weekend will help them clinch the title. The West Midlands outfit has been the most consistent team in the second tier of English football this season and will be deserving champions.

Meanwhile, the Blues are struggling in the league at the moment and are in real danger of being relegated to the League One at the end of this campaign. They are in dire need of some positive results in the coming weeks to help them avoid the drop. Hence, Birmingham City won’t be push-overs so the Wolves would need to bring their A-game to bag the three points on the day. Nuno Espirito Santo is expected to stick with his 3-4-2-1 formation and might name an unchanged team for this contest.

The recent history of this fixture makes a grim reading for the away side as they have lost three of their past five encounters against the West Midlands team.

3-4-2-1 Wolves Predicted Lineup To Face Birmingham City

John Ruddy is set to start in the Wolves goal and might be shielded by a back three of Ryan Bennett, Conor Coady and Willy Boly. Nuno Espírito Santo has seen his Wolves defence concede just 36 goals in 42 league matches this season and will be hoping that his defenders can keep it tight at the back against a struggling Birmingham City side.

Roman Saiss might continue his midfield partnership with Ruben Neves at the centre of the park. Barry Douglas will resume his duties on the left while Matt Doherty operates on the right flank. Neves scored a wonderful goal from outside the box in his last league outing for the West Midlands club.

Ivan Cavaleiro and Diogo Jota are set to play just ahead of the midfield four to provide support to their frontman. Both players have been in terrific form recently and will look to get their names on the scoresheet on Sunday.

Benik Afobe will lead the lines for the home team and look to cause damage in the opposition penalty box. He has made 35 appearances for the Wolves this season, scoring 5 goals and providing one assist in all competitions. Only time will tell whether he can find his goalscoring touch against the Blues on Sunday.
