After two defeats on the trot, Rangers aren’t expected to be in a jovial mood but Graeme Murty is due to take his side to the Fir Park on Saturday to face Motherwell in their next Scottish Premiership fixture. The Gers certainly need to build some momentum ahead of their Scottish Cup semi-final clash next month against their arch-rivals, Celtic, and thus they must attempt to bag all three points.

Jordan Rossiter, Ryan Jack and David Bates are sidelined but Graham Dorrans is expected to return and should be in contention to feature at some point during the game.

Here is how we expect Murty to roll out his starting XI against Stephen Robinson’s side this weekend.

Wes Foderingham has been the preferred choice for the goalkeeping role for the Gers and he has been quite decent between the sticks this season. The 27-year-old is expected to get the nod to start once again.

James Tavernier would be one of the first names to find a place in Murty’s starting line-up this weekend. The right-back has dazzled more often than not and has been really consistent this season. Declan John is expected to take up the left-back slot.

Bruno Alves and Russell Martin are anticipated to be teed up to be placed at the heart of the back line of the Glasgow giants. Both of them have a substantial amount of experience under their belt and need to showcase their resilience in the upcoming fixture.

Sean Goss has been one of the most productive players for Rangers this season and on Saturday, he would be aiming to dictate the flow of the game once again from the middle of the park. Alongside him, we expect to see Greg Docherty to start once again.

Josh Windass has showcased his attacking and creative prowess on plenty of occasions this season and he is expected to ply his trade once again as the central attacking midfielder. Windass needs to emerge as the engine room of Rangers’ offensive endeavours.

Prior to the international break, Murty used Jason Cummings up top against Kilmarnock but it failed to garner the desired output. Thus, against the Steelmen, we expect to see Alfredo Morelos being used as a striker as his pace and physicality should help his side in the final third.

On the left-wing, we expect to see Jamie Murphy to start once again and there is no denying that he has the calibre to make an impact on his own. From the right-wing position, Daniel Candeias is seemingly likely to start and he would be aiming to put on a strong performance.
