Manchester City forward Sergio Aguero has stated his desire to depart the Etihad Stadium in favour of a move back to his homeland when his contract runs out in the summer of 2020. According to recent reports, the Argentine striker has revealed that he wants to return to Independiente when his current deal with the Citizens expires in a few years time.
Aguero signed for City in the summer of 2011 from Atletico Madrid and has gone on to become a regular goal-scorer at Manchester which has seen him being labelled as a ‘legend’ by City boss Pep Guardiola. He has just over two years left to run on his contract with the club. The Argentina international has recently addressed his future and was quoted to have said,
“I always said that I would like to return to Independiente when my contract ends with City, which is in 2020. I am not thinking about that now. I am focused on finishing the season well and reaching the World Cup.”
