Real Madrid’s season, so far, has been going from to worse it seems. The European champions already trail league leaders Barcelona by a stunning eight points difference, while they’ve also slumped to a defeat against Tottenham Hotspur in their recent Champions clash.
However, in order to further strengthen their squad, Real Madrid are interested in Borussia Dortmund super talent Christian Pulisic. The American international has been one of the success stories in the Bundesliga for the past 18 months or so and is already regarded as one of the best young players in the world.
But considering the fact that Borussia Dortmund have lost the likes of Mats Hummels, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Ilkay Gundogan and Ousmane Dembele in recent seasons, will it be a good decision to cash in on Christian Pulisic?
Pulisic has started the season on a bright note but has lacked the final product due to lack of support in the final third. Even though the American has just scored three goals in 16 matches this season, head coach Peter Bosz should be firmly adamant of keeping Pulisic at his disposal in order to foresee a successful future at the club.
The loss of Ousmane Dembele has been a massive blow for the Black and Yellows this season as they are often failing to find a spark which could fire up the attack. New signings Andriy Yarmolenko and Maximilian Philipp have played well so far, but have lacked consistency.
Andriy Yarmolenko, in particular, has only stepped up against weak oppositions while Philipp wasn’t even given the chance against any top notch opposition as of yet. In the game against Bayern Munich for example, low contribution from BVB’s offensive line led to Dortmund’s demise against the mighty Bavarians. Christian Pulisic was the only BVB attacker causing trouble for the opposition defence, which firmly suggests the fact that the Ruhr Giants are in desperate need of top quality attackers and Pulisic is definitely one of them.
Make no mistake, the American International is one of the few players, who has the resilience and tenacity to thrive with any manager or any team in the world.
Considering the fact that Marco Reus, Andre Schurrle, and Raphael Guerreiro have all struggled with injuries quite frequently in the past few seasons, Christian Pulisic’s presence in the team will be imperative for Dortmund in the coming years. Therefore, Dortmund should be wary of the importance the 19-year-old has in the offensive department and waving off interest from possible suitors in the future, should be given a top priority.
