Leeds United’s brilliant start to the season has stuttered following their awful form of late. Six defeats in the last eight matches have somehow underlined the need for new players and manager Thomas Christiansen is expected to dig deep in the transfer market.

According to reports, Leeds had a £180,000 bid rejected by Lech Poznan winger Kamil Jozwiak. The manager has been looking for some exciting attacking prospects and the Polish winger has been topping his list.

Leeds’ hopes of promotion could be revived if they manage to muster a win against Middlesbrough following the international break as the River siders are scheduled to visit Elland Road.

Jozwiak has started just one game in the Polish top tier and there have been growing possibilities of his leaving the club but the Polish club has refuted any claims of letting go their prized possession.

The winger’s contract is due to expire in this summer and he will be free to negotiate a deal with any club in January but that is unlikely to happen. The 19 year is very highly regarded at the club and is tipped to be the future star of the club.

The Polish club confirmed there have been approaches from the Yorkshire club. “During the meeting, the agent and father reported that they were not interested in the club’s offer and would like to transfer the player to Leeds United.”

Leeds managed to unearth a number of gems in this summer for a very cheaper fee with the likes of Ezgjan Alioski and Samu Saiz who have influenced the side very much.

It is a matter of prestige for the gaffer who has instilled a belief among the players and will have the pressure to replicate the initial form once football returns back to the Elland Road.

Predominantly a right winger, Jozwiak can be equally destructive on both flanks. It is a matter of big question whether investing in a player would be the answer of questions who neither has the exposure nor has the experience to play in the big leagues given the rugged and tough nature of the Championship.

Jozwiak made his intentions clear as he turned down the chance of extending his stay. Also, growing competition on the side has been a matter of concern for him and it has fulled the speculation.

It remains to be seen whether Leeds better their offer or wait in the line for summer.
