Bayern Munich are growing frustrated with the recent performances of Arturo Vidal. The Chilean midfielder is currently in a mini-rut at the moment, often failing to make the starting lineup under new boss Jupp Heynckes.
As per reports from German media, the Bavarians are willing to get rid of their star midfielder next summer for a fee of £50m, with various Premier League clubs interested in his services, including defending champions Chelsea.
Vidal has been down in the pecking order of stunning all-around midfielders in the current Bayern roster. Despite already boasting a star-studded squad, the champions of Germany opted to sign quality midfielders in the shape of Corentin Tolisso and Sebastian Rudy, which has made life difficult for Arturo Vidal, of late.
Considering the fact that his time at Bayern is slowly coming to an end, a move to Chelsea could be a logical decision for the Chilean superstar.
Chelsea, struggling to defend their title after a sensational league triumph last season, are in a dire need of someone who can bring more aggression and dynamism into the squad, and Arturo Vidal could be the perfect signing for the Blues.
The 30-year-old is by far one of the strongest midfielders playing in the Bundesliga and he is sure to thrive in the Premier League with his sheer physicality. Following the loss of Nemanja Matic to Manchester United this summer, the Blues have evidently lacked the presence of a midfielder, who can obliterate the progression of the opposition and provide cover for the backline.
Vidal is highly experienced in playing down the role of a holding midfielder. Aside from his sheer physical prowess, the Chilean has also greatly improved his passing ability during his time at Bayern. Furthermore, he can always be a threat from long range, as he showed many times in the Bundesliga for the past few seasons.
His ability in breaking up the play through rough tackling and brutality will help Chelsea dominate the central areas of the field, eventually helping them to get more control over their opposition. In addition, Vidal’s offensive contribution has significantly improved in recent years, meaning he could also boost Chelsea’s chance creation with some incisive passes into the final third.
Most importantly, however, Arturo Vidal was a vital cog in midfield for Antonio Conte, during his stint at Juventus and the Italian will be glad to have him back at his disposal.
