Chelsea are currently in a bad phase at the moment, having dished out a number of disappointing performances in the last few matches in the Premier League as well as the Champions League. After a scrappy win in the Premier League over lowly placed side Bournemouth by 1-0, they were thrashed by the Italian giants Roma in the Champions League earlier this week.
The Blues are well aware of the fact that if they need to hang on to their hard-earned Premier League title, which they clinched in the last term, they will have to start getting more competitive and challenging in their approach, to help their cause and fight for it in the future. However, they might have to add a few more players to their side as well this winter and are ready to spill the cash, if the situation calls for it.
As per reports, Chelsea are looking to strengthen their side, especially their attack, with the inclusion of a number of players with the primary target being the 19-year-old striker Florinel Coman. The teenage sensation is currently rated as one of the best young forwards in Romania and is plying his trade for the Romanian club Steaua Bucharest.
He has made a name for himself as a genuine goalscorer for his club as well as the national team and has earned rave reviews for his ability to score goals from distance as well as from close range. He has the ability to score from free kicks as well as open play and is also lethal with his head. He can be a very good addition to Chelsea’s attacking lineup in the near future.
The current Portuguese champions, Benfica tried their level best to bag the Romanian youngster but it was Steaua Bucharest who closed the deal. The 19-year-old has made 10 appearances for them so far and has already shown his flare on both the wings as well as the main striker, notching up three goals and two assists to show for his efforts.
Chelsea are willing to gamble on the player to revive their position at the top of the table in this season as well. If the deal comes to life, it can be a significant catch for the West London club in their bid to finish another season at the top of the table in the Premier League.
But is he the best Conte can sign?
