Slaven Bilic is currently relishing his task in London. The West Ham United gaffer has put his side in a very comfortable position in the Premier League but clouds of uncertainties are hovering around and the Croatian gaffer seems to be a little worried about the current situation at the club.
The Hammers are reportedly interested in Kwadwo Asamoah of Juventus and might make an attempt in January to bring the player to the London Stadium. The 28-year old’s current contract runs out at the end of this season and there are no attempts at a contract renewal from the Italian giants.
The Ghana international has been in Italy since 2012 but life in the country hasn’t been kind to him as he has often been troubled with serious injuries. But still, between an unstable situation, the midfielder has been able to notch up three starts in this ongoing season.
When it comes to quality, the Hammers are currently pretty good as Bilic used the summer transfer window to rectify his squad bringing in the likes of Joe Hart and Javier Hernandez. But the presence of a capable midfielder who could lead the drive in the middle of the pitch has been missing.
The Irons had been linked with William Carvalho and had a bid in place which had almost sealed the transfer. But some late absurd demands from the Portuguese club forced the East Londoners to back out from the deal.
Asamoah could be an exciting option for the Hammers. The midfielder has the experience in the European top league for a long time so he would have no problems in balancing the acts in the Premier League.
Carvalho boasts of a bundle of energy and is a tireless runner across the park. He also has the technique and ability to match up the demand of the Premier League. The player can also fill in a number of positions including left back if asked, so overall, he would be a bargain buy, should the Hammers decide to go all out for him.
Turkish club Galatasaray are also planning to offer the player a chance to move to Turkey and might make a bid in January. The player is open to broker a deal in January as he is eligible to sign a pre-contract with any club.
The Hammers don’t have much time and should make a move for him in the winter transfer window. But can he solve their problems?
