West Ham United are the ranked underperformers of this season, losing four of their first seven matches so far. They are far from in the desired form that is required to take them into the top half of the table and they will need to play out of their skins to turn their fortunes around in the future.
The Hammers spent well this summer and brought in two of the reliable forwards in Europe in the form of Javier Hernandez and Marko Arnautovic. They also went on to bring in a stalwart like Pablo Zabaleta on a free transfer to stabilise their defence, which has proved to be futile in keeping their backline safe from the opposition attackers.
The East London club is well aware of the fact that they will have to get their act together as soon as possible, to turn their fortunes in the future and might be willing to add some new players to their side in the January transfer window. They are already eyeing a number of stars and one youngster, who is on the top their target list is the 17-year-old Ghanaian starlet Rashid Alhassan.
The teenage defender, who prefers to play as a left back, is known for his brilliant ability to generate brisk pace while running with the ball and has the physicality and defensive discipline to improve the Hammers’ defence. Currently playing for Aduana Stars, a domestic club playing in the Ghanaian league, the fullback is believed to have a bright future ahead of him.
With a number of top clubs from all over Europe looking to make a bid for the 17-year-old, the Hammers might find it quite difficult to bag the player amidst such tough competition. However, given their desperation to revive their season, the East London club might toil harder to get the desired candidate into the side by January.
A good runner and a sharpshooter, the Ghanaian Under17 international is cherishing every moment of his life as a member of the FIFA Under 17 World Cup, which is being held in India. The Ghana national team would want to perform to the best of their abilities and bring the Under 17 FIFA World Cup to their country, with the help of stars like Rashid Alhassan.
The player is eyed by a number of other clubs and there is no shortage of offers for him in recent times. However, Bilic should go all in for him as he can be a very good addition to the Hammers’ squad for seasons to come.
