Though it took him some time to make a mark for the former La Liga champions, he has gradually become one of the most dependable players in the backline for his side. His diligent performances have attracted the eyes of a number of big-name clubs from all over Europe including the Red Devils and Barcelona are no strangers to that.
Though Manchester United are already in possession of a number of good defenders in the form of Eric Bailly, Phil Jones, and Victor Lindelof, they might part ways with their English ace Chris Smalling in the near future. The player failed to capture the attention of the Portuguese gaffer and might be replaced by Umtiti.
The 23-year-old French centre-back is known for his ability to make crunching tackles and win the ball quickly at the back. He is also equipped with a brilliant header and has the ability to compete with the strongest of players to keep hold of the ball. He might be a very good addition to the Manchester United lineup but will not be easy to lure away from Camp Nou.
